Julia Ideson Building Houston

Address
550 McKinney St, Houston TX 77002

In the heart of the city, the historic Julia Ideson Building's distinctive and elegant Spanish architecture stands out among the glass contemporary buildings that surround it. As you enter into this 1926 structure, it takes you back to a Houston that once was. The sophisticated grandeur and history of the building can be felt as you walk the reflective Spanish-brick floors, through the grand staircase, the Tudor Gallery surrounded by large marble pillars, the Reading Room with its original wooden fixtures, a one-of-a-kind exhibit room showing some of the Library's archival collection, and then as you look up to the breathtakingly gold and vibrant colored wood flowers on the ceiling.

The exceptional romantic spaces and corridors with high-arched windows, as well as the artwork, in the Julia Ideson Building make it the perfect destination setting for weddings, galas, formal dinners, photo sessions, business meetings, corporate parties, and a variety of other events.
