The Architectural Model

Discover the creativity, skill and innovation involved in model making and the important role it plays in the design process, as told with Bristol-based Amalgam, who are celebrating their 30th year in modelmaking.

The exhibition features video interviews with modelmakers and architects, case studies including projects by Foster + Partners and, of course, lots of models!

There is also the opportunity for hands-on activities - visitors are invited to design and build a model for the 'gap site' between the Architecture Centre and Arnolfini and display it with others in the gallery.

Information about related events including a family friendly activity afternoon, and a talk by Nick Dunn, author of Architectural Modelmaking (2014) will be available via our events page soon.
