The Self-build Archives

Hours
Tue–Sat 1–5 pm

It is impossible nowadays to imagine Amsterdam without Self-building: from up and coming Buiksloterham to the exclusive Weespertrekvaart and the pioneers on Zeeburgereiland. The phenomenon of building your own house has taken significant proportions in the past decades and therefore deserves its own stage. On our mezzanine you will find the first self-building archive of the Netherlands.

The Amsterdam Architecture Centre has invited self-builders to submit their models. The temporary self-building archive is this summer’s meeting place for the work of self-builders. Discover an eclectic collection of self-building projects in this mini exhibition.
