The House of the Explorer

In the exhibition ‘The House of The Explorer’, architecture office Bovenbouw Architectuur constructs a world full of concrete buildings and paper ideas.

Bovenbouw is building a varied oeuvre of very different buildings with a team of eighteen employees. The work of the Antwerp based office floats on the tension between thinking and acting, between past and present, and between exoticism and everyday life. The founder, Dirk Somers, is not only an architect but also an essayist, a lecturer at TU Delft and Professor at Ghent University. Bovenbouw has exhibited work in Venice, Munich, Frankfurt, Ghent, Mendrisio and Antwerp.
