How do we want to build, live, inhabit and work together, not only in the future, but right now? Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao has explored this question for more than a decade from her interdisciplinary office De Ella Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, based in Mexico City. Her practice does not seek media stardom, nor does it seek to be complacent, on the contrary, she understands architecture as a platform to generate community from the design process to its use.

From her studio, she designs, plans and builds with empathy, attitude and responsibility. “For her holistic approach to architecture, her unwavering commitment, and her inspiring way of working,” she is now the recipient of the 2022 AW Architect of the Year award ., showcases eight of his international projects that explore the idea of the common, including a conceptual residential building and a monastery in Germany. The exhibition, designed for the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin, emerged from the collaboration with the German magazine AW Architektur & Wohnen and the cooperation partner of Aedes (Berlin), CEMEX.
