This exhibition is proposed by elected officials from our board of directors, and produced with the help of nine architectural agencies from Isère and ENSA Grenoble. It shows an overview of the architectural news of the massifs surrounding Grenoble, these projects respond to the problems and challenges of these territories and present the solutions that can be provided.

“Altitude Architecture” requires a particular approach in terms of location, construction and materials used. Architects must take into account the sometimes hostile relief of our massifs, while seeking to harmoniously integrate their project into the built context and the natural landscape in order to respond to the challenges posed by the mountainous environment. Taking into account what is already there, the use of local and/or biosourced materials and respect for the relief are essential aspects of these architectural approaches at altitude.

The “Architectural Attitudes” highlighted in our exhibition show the essential creativity and innovation of architects’ positions. By presenting projects and achievements which fully integrate the specificities of altitude and topography, it offers an overview of different approaches, "attitudes" possible for building a sustainable future that respects the identity of the territories of our mountains and of their users.

It is through these two prisms, altitude and attitude, that this exhibition on architectural news in the Isère massifs takes on its full meaning.
