Barkow Leibinger
With the exhibition Barkow Leibinger – Revolutions of Choice, Haus am Waldsee is presenting the work of the American-German architectural office of Frank Barkow (*1957) and Regine Leibinger (*1963) in the summer of 2020. After GRAFT, Haus-Rucker-Co and J. MAYER H., this is now the fourth internationally outstanding architectural position to reach a large audience at the Waldsee since 2010.
The focus of the exhibition is on Barkow Leibinger’s pavilions as walk-through installations as well as on a pronounced talent for innovative material developments. Their strategies are examined in a research for new production techniques and spatial organisation. At the beginning of the 21st century, Barkow Leibinger is working on a concept of architecture that provides man and nature with a new, appropriate space in fully automated environments. In doing so, the visual arts are an important source of inspiration for them.
