The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2019 exhibition travels across Europe  and thus acknowledges and disseminates quality architecture. After Barcelona, Brussels, Leuven and Vienna and simultaneously with the exhibition “Large-scale transformation, a new challenge of sustainability. Kleiburg in Amsterdam, Grand Parc in Bordeaux” at the Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine in Paris, it is now presented at the Landeshaus des Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) in Köln, Germany where it can be visited between October 22 and November 20, 2020.

The exhibition features videos, images and models of the winning project, the transformation of 530 dwellings – Grand Parc Bordeaux by Lacaton & Vassal architectes; Frédéric Druot Architecture; Christophe Hutin Architecture and the Emerging Architecture Winner, BAST studio’s proposal for the school refectory in Montbrun Bocage as well as the finalists‘ (Terrassenhaus Berlin/Lobe Block, Plascencia Auditorium and Congress Centre, PC Caritas in Melle and Skanderberg square in Tirana) and of the 35 shortlisted.

As complementary events to the exhibition, the debates “Quantity and quality: function and design. Investing in the future” (Wednesday 28/10 at 7pm) and “Quantity and quality: conditions for affordable housing with the example of the Cologne-Bonn region” (Wednesday 11/11 at 7pm) will also be held.
