The Deutsches Architekturmuseum, the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing, and Kulturprojekte Berlin are pleased to present this exciting exhibition for a short time in Berlin! The recent refurbishment of the Berliner Staatsoper Unter den Linden is also presented in detail.

The exhibition will be accompanied by two public events, at which representatives of culture and politics will discuss the challenges presented by the construction and renovation of theatres and opera houses.

Opening event on 27 March 2019 at 7 pm
Andrea Jürges / Yorck Forster, DAM in conversation with State Secretary Regula Lüscher, State Secretary Dr. Torsten Wöhlert as well as HG Merz (hg merz architekten) and Jette Hopp (Snøhetta) about the architecture of opera houses and their significance in the urban context. – Free admission, limited number of seats.

“Opera for all” podium discussion on 16 April 2019 at 7 pm
Senator Dr. Klaus Lederer, State Secretary Regula Lüscher and Barrie Kosky, artistic director of the Komische Oper Berlin,  in conversation on the question: How can an opera house become a house for all? – Free admission, limited number of seats.

The discussions will be conducted in German only.
