Scale + Ambition
For the third year running the Architecture Centre is pleased to welcome back the Architects' Journal Small Projects exhibition. This annual competition celebrates design ingenuity and excellence delivered within a budget of less than £250,000.
Out of the 24 shortlisted entrants the winning entry was chosen to be Wapping Pierhead, a two-storey housing extension in London by Chris Dyson. Described by the panel of judges as ‘subtle, thoughtful yet mischevious’, the extension to the Georgian end terrace was commended for its plan and detailing.
If you are inspired by the projects you see in this exhibition and have dreams of renovating or building your own home, or planning an extension, why not book a slot to speak to a local architect in one of our monthly Ask an Architect surgeries. More information available here.
A panel discussion that draws together some of the regional projects, including the AJ Sustainability prize winner - Gillespie Yunnie's staircase at the Royal William Yard - as well as the overall winning project by Chris Dyson, will take place on Wednesday 10 September.
