The Architectural Competition
Construction means responsibility – towards society, the environment, and future generations. Architectural competitions are an essential tool for ensuring high-quality solutions for construction projects.
In an architectural competition, various solutions for a construction project are developed, which are then evaluated by an independent jury based on urban planning, functional, design, and economic criteria and recommended for implementation. This process guarantees fair, transparent, and efficient awarding of contracts that is convincing both economically and qualitatively. At the same time, it represents the most economical and efficient procurement procedure for clients and ensures long-term, high quality standards for all involved.
Construction is understood as a cultural responsibility – a contribution to the further development of the built environment and thus to the region's building culture. This claim is reflected in the Carinthian Building Culture Guidelines, which have formed the basis for sustainable and livable design processes since 2018.
The exhibition presents a selection of architectural competitions held in Carinthia in recent years. Visitors have the opportunity to compare the diversity of the tasks and approaches to solutions. In addition, an insight into the organizational processes and the procedure of an architectural competition will be offered, highlighting its significance and added value for architectural quality.
