The exhibition of the Mies van der Rohe Awards shows the architectural and urban planning challenges in Europe as well as aesthetically convincing solutions.

The Town House of Kingston University in London by Grafton Architects from Dublin received the Mies van der Rohe Award 2022 and La Borda by Lacol in Barcelona received the "Emerging Architecture 2022" young talent award. The presentation of the Mies van der Rohe Award 2022 in the Landeshaus of the LVR in Cologne June 11 to July 13, 2022 is the only station of the exhibition in Germany: It is a building that was significantly influenced by Mies's design approaches by its architects in the 1950s.

European architecture in focus
It is awarded every two years by the European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe. A top-class jury selects a building that is conceptually, artistically, socially and culturally outstanding from current construction projects in the countries of the European Union. The projects for the Mies Award, which are shortlisted in a complex selection process, are shown in an exhibition. After the award ceremony in Barcelona, ​​she will be touring through Europe.

The Museum der Baukultur is showing the exhibition in cooperation with the European Commission/ Creative Europe, the Fundació Mies van der Rohe Barcelona, ​​the LVR – Landschaftsverband Rheinland and the TH Köln.
