Topiary Tango takes a playfully serious look into the horticultural practice of trimming bushes into geometric shapes. Curated by the 2017 Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant recipient Mark Zlotsky, the exhibition delves into the research conducted during his topiary-laden trek through Italy, France, and the United Kingdom.Learn the ancient history of verdant sculpting, see how the craft creates flamboyant figures out of banal bushes, and consider how this leafy medium can be used as an architectural building material.

Topiary Tango is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
