On the occasion of EDIT Napoli 2022, the publishing and author design fair in its fourth edition, and as part of EDIT Cult, a program of installations in special places in the city, "Le Casette delle Pezzentelle" will be exhibited in the Church of Santa Luciella ai Librai. Seven small architectures made of colored wood dialogue with the suspended atmosphere of the crypt of the ancient church, a space that housed the popular worship of the "pezzentelle" souls, deceased people with unknown identities who were "adopted" by those who took care of them, material and spiritual.
Reflects De Lucchi "Everything we do as human beings is aimed at defining our presence among others; to lose identity as in the case of the "pezzentelle" is to be deprived of the possibility of being recognized. As an architect, I wondered what the homes of these forgotten people might look like [...] I imagined I could inspire them with shapes and colors, avoiding standardization and conventions, which, I believe, these people would not have appreciated, since their only strength was precisely their diversity, albeit in poverty."

At the end of Edit Napoli, the works "Le Casette delle Pezzentelle" will be transferred to Studio Trisorio, creating a dialogue with the drawings on display.
