Edited by Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), the 2013\14 edition of the German Architecture Annual once again presents the finest examples of current architecture in Germany and buildings abroad designed by German architects. This time the Annual features 22 outstanding projects, as answers to totally different building assignments.
As of February all buildings featured in the yearbook will be showcased on the third floor of the museum –in the section that is home to the emblematic “house within a house”. The highlight of the exhibition will be Kunstmuseum Ravensburg by Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei, which was honored with the 2013 DAM Prize for Architecture.
The Stuttgart-based firm champions an idiosyncratic style of tectonic expressiveness that encourages a lavish use of materials. With the Kunstmuseum, the architects succeeded in creating a veritable masterpiece that shows superb quality of expression and spatial effects, both as regards urban design and architecture.
