Olaf Reiter
Thinking about architecture in a sustainable way while also creating design quality—the retrospective exhibition of Hellerau-based architect Olaf Reiter at the Haus der Architekten, located at Goetheallee 37 in Dresden, demonstrates how this aspiration is realized in specific construction projects. From November 12, 2026, through January 5, 2027, selected works will be on display, offering insights into his architectural philosophy and design process.
Among the projects on display are the conference center of the Dresden Institute of Wood Technology and the New Apostolic Church Dresden-South. Models and numerous drawings complement the exhibition and illustrate the development of architectural ideas—from the initial sketch to the completed building.
The focus is on sustainable building concepts, a distinctive design language, and the commitment to seamlessly combining energy efficiency with design quality. For Olaf Reiter, energy-efficient construction is not an afterthought but a natural part of his architectural philosophy. His projects demonstrate how environmental responsibility, functionality, and design can be combined into a compelling architectural whole.
Olaf Reiter (Dipl.-Ing., Architect BDA) was born in Leipzig in 1960 and has run his own architecture firm in Dresden-Hellerau since 1991. In 2017, he founded Reiter Architekten GmbH. He is a member of the Saxony Chamber of Architects and the Association of German Architects (BDA).
Opening: November 16, 2026, 6 p.m.
Welcome: Andreas Wolfarth, President of the Saxony Chamber of Architects
