Too Hot

Hot Cities, New Ways

Deutsches Architekturmuseum DAM

Hours
Tue, Thu–Sun 11 am–6 pm, Wed 11 am–8 pm

Climate change is making cities hotter and hotter—with noticeable consequences. Heat, drought, water shortages, and flooding highlight the urgent need to rethink and redesign urban spaces.

Since cities account for the largest share of CO₂ emissions, they bear a special responsibility, for example in the transformation of infrastructure and public spaces. Many of them aim to become climate-neutral within the next fifteen years. What does this mean for the future—for planning, architecture, and life in the city?

Too Hot showcases examples from thirteen European cities across different climates, ranging from small towns to metropolises. They are responding to the climate crisis with concrete measures for climate protection and adaptation, including built projects, strategic planning, and civil society initiatives. The exhibition illustrates how diverse this transformation can be and what social issues and sociopolitical discourses
accompany it.

Opening: June 19, 2026, 7 p.m.
