What if?
“What if…?” – This question sparks our imagination when we think about the future. Our present is characterized by instability, profound upheavals, and global challenges such as climate change, wars, and social and economic injustices. Amidst this uncertainty, artists, designers, architects, and researchers not only develop visions for a livable future but also devise concrete proposals for action that offer us orientation in the present. Their ideas, perspectives, and approaches form the core of the exhibition at the Kornhausforum. Drawing on the fields of architecture, game and speculative design, and art, the exhibition presents visual and interactive explorations of possible future scenarios.
A focus of the works on display is the multifaceted relationships between nature, technology, and society. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between plants, humans, and machines. In doing so, the exhibition also questions the prevailing image of humanity as the center of all being – and follows the principle of more-than-human thinking.
Thus, the Kornhausforum is being transformed into a space that invites a hopeful look toward the future and encourages a conscious engagement with change. With this exhibition, we aim to inspire wonder, broaden horizons, and spark a dialogue about the future.
Opening: November 27, 2025, 6:30 p.m.
