Francisco Mangado Arquitecto

Address
11 Rue des Blancs Manteaux, 75004 Paris Map
Hours
Tue–Sat 11 am-7 pm

The flexibility of Mangado’s work and his ability to work with people from different areas of society, with different materials, and with history are fundamental. As he himself says: “Time is the most important material. In architecture, the quest for beauty is an ethical dimension. Form in architecture only has meaning as a function of the content. Architecture is a discipline with a civic and social dimension”.
This exhibition presents a large selection of Francisco Mangado’s recent work, both as an architect and as a designer, through models of projects and competition entries.
In addition, a documentary film looks back at the most important buildings he has completed, with a commentary in which the architect shares some of his most relevant reflections and points of view with friends and mentors such as Rafael Moneo, Álvaro Siza, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Juan Herreros.
The exhibition catalogue contains a selection of original sketches and drawings produced over the last few years, together with texts in which Mangado expresses his personal opinions on his approach to architecture.
