Gaëtan le Penhuel & Associés

Gaëtan le Penhuel et Associés was born in 1994, following a successful proposal for a Europan 3 project in Reims. now with around 20 staff, the agency is a firm believer in the benefits of teamwork and has developed an approach to architecture that combines multi- disciplinary competences with a tireless curiosity for our evolving world.
Following the agency’s 20th anniversary and the recent delivery of several major projects, we felt it was an ideal time to look back at our work through an exhibition at the Galerie d’Architecture, twinned with a special issue of the magazine Archistorm.
The projects have been divided into three sections: The first section showcases our latest completed buildings through videos taken using drones and projected onto the gallery’s walls. These films are accompanied by life-size prototypes. Section two contains projects that are still in the design stage. The third section presents a futuristic project, Les monades, the fruit of all our architectural experience, our travels around the world and our dreams. It provides a utopian but possible vision of how cities may evolve. It is this iteration between dream and reality that makes our profession so magical and underlies the joy we still get, even after 20 years, from being architects.
