What remains of buildings once they have disappeared? What significance do structures that once shaped cities and landscapes—and no longer exist today—have?

With the support of the Federal Foundation Bauakademie, Ingenieur Baukunst e. V. invites you to an extraordinary exhibition in the Red Hall at Schinkelplatz in Berlin: “Lost & Found” combines virtual reality, original exhibits, and classic exhibition elements to create a new approach to civil engineering.

The focus is on interactive VR experiences that allow visitors to enter and re-experience important buildings that have been lost today. The virtual experience is complemented by exhibition walls with information boards, historical photographs, original plans, and other original objects from archives. This creates a dialogue between digital reconstruction and material tradition.

The exhibition brings to life the engineering masterpieces of the 19th and 20th centuries in terms of their design ideas, dimensions, and social contexts.

Opening: February 11, 2026, 6 p.m.
