In the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf, the exhibition "Young Portuguese Architecture" curated by Carsten Land is dedicated to current trends in Portugal from Wednesday, 6 September 2023. The exhibition focuses on the working conditions and career paths of young architects and presents eleven offices, each with a project.

Atelier Fala (Porto), for example, is represented. With its conversions of residential buildings or student flats, which show numerous references to postmodernism, the office has achieved international fame. Atelier JQTS, based in Lisbon and Hamburg, realised a residential building in Cascais that is largely determined by its construction, as are the office's pavilion buildings. In any case, temporary installations are given a special place in the exhibition: "It is above all ephemeral works that have so far offered this generation the opportunity to prove itself," says Carsten Land. These include, for example, the pavilion inbetween by the pontoatelier office from Funchal, built for a festival in São Miguel.

In addition to plans and photographs of the realised buildings, construction site photos and sketches show the process behind the planning. CVs and a timeline illustrate the economic and political conditions of the last two decades. The opening takes place within the framework of the overarching show "Alliances: Düsseldorf/Lisbon" a Portuguese garden festival at the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf.
