Timber Transformer is an exhibition that tells the story of a 15-year journey to change the political, social, economic and environmental landscape of Indonesian forestry.

The show examines the diplomatic agreements and country-wide process that culminated in Indonesia becoming the first country to issue a newly formed FLEGT licence* designed to trace the origins of tropical timber. The show highlights how a transformation of the tropical timber industry can impact forest communities, local habitats, global economies and sustainability on an international scale.

* Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) licence acts as a guarantee that the timber and timber products you purchase have come from well-managed, well-regulated forests and supply chains.
