Luigi Ghirri
The exhibition highlights the importance of Luigi Ghirri’s work in the field of architecture, through his decade-long contribution to Lotus International magazine. Ghirri has given architecture a new way of looking, making it possible to understand design in relation to the conflicting aspects and internal contradictions in contemporary landscapes. The exhibition shows the fruitful relationship between Ghirri and Lotus, with a whole array of original photographs from the magazine archives, many of which have never been shown before, together with some work materials.
The display includes about 200 original prints and over 100 images on screen, some never previously shown, in three sections: Italian Landscape, Domestic Design, and Architectural Images commissioned by the magazine, and there is also a series of photographs of the Palazzo dell’Arte and the Parco Sempione taken in 1986.
