Impasse des Lilas is a dead end on the edges of a metropolis. There is no lilac, but a uniform amalgamation of domestic lives, architectures and unspecified landscapes. There are 841 impasses des Lilas in France, and several thousand others in the name of flowers. Through the productions and research of MBL architectes, those of artists, guest architects and a selection of everyday objects, the exhibition explores this condition: neither city nor countryside. It invites us to observe the world and its future from an impasse in the name of a flower.
