A 70 m², 3D-printed model of Amsterdam depicts the city in every detail – from historical landmarks to future urban developments. At a scale of 1:2000, the model presents 75 distinctive buildings and tells interactive stories about Amsterdam as a waterfront and green city.

Thanks to digital technology, the model changes its colors, and photos and stories come to life, allowing visitors to experience the city's dynamics in new ways. The design agency Capitola developed the immersive presentation, while MVSA Architects was responsible for the precise 3D printing.

Arcam presents, among other things, all the buildings from the Green Architecture Guide on the scale model, photographed by Rubén Dario Kleimeer. The unique brick AAP Award – designed by Aberson – is displayed next to the model in one of the display cases.

In addition to the scale model, Amsterdam in Motion offers an interactive exhibition on current and historical topics such as housing, leisure, fashion, innovation, and biodiversity. The Amsterdam Museum is collaborating with Westergas and the creative agency Monks on this project and is responsible for the operation of this permanent, immersive cultural experience.

A City in Images and Stories
Both scale models bring Amsterdam to life in a unique way. One presents the city in a precise, digital 3D representation, the other combines history, technology, and immersive projections. Together, they create a unique celebration of 750 years of Amsterdam: a tribute to the past, a reflection on the present, and a glimpse into the future.
