Kärtens Beste Bauten
The exhibition "Kärntens Beste Bauten" from the Kärntner Landesbaupreis 2022 is stopping off in selected communities, schools and public buildings in Kärnten. Submitted, visited and awarded projects can be seen. The interactive exhibition design invites to become involved and get an overview of the current architectural developments in Kärnten. The exhibition is accompanied by guided tours, lectures and workshops on site.
The next stop is the municipality of Millstatt. The Millstatt diving tower by Hohengasser Wirnsberger Architekten received an award in 2022. The exhibition is accessible in the Millstatt bathhouse during opening hours. At the opening, Sonja Hohengasser and Jürgen Wirnsberger will present the project in a lecture at 6 p.m.
Since 2008, Sonja Hohengasser (*1973) and Jürgen Wirnsberger (*1984) have been involved as a team in questions of regional building culture. Both of them, coming from Millstatt, combine teaching and research at the Kärnten University of Applied Sciences in Spittal with projects and buildings that have already received attention. Regional thinking in the social and structural context of the local structure and landscape is their “credo”. In addition, they volunteer in a variety of activities related to the Kärnten architectural scene.
In 2022, the two received the Kärntner Landesbaupreis for the “Neue Ortsmitte Arriach” and recognition for the renovation of the “Sprungturm Millstatt”.
