Creating NEBourhoods Together: Creating beautiful, environmentally friendly and sustainable neighborhoods together

Creating NEBourhoods Together is one of six flagship projects of the New European Bauhaus initiative selected and funded by the European Commission to support Europe's path to a climate-neutral continent.

"The New European Bauhaus is the heart and soul of the Green Deal."
Ursula von der Leyen President of the European Commission

Creating NEBourhoods Together aims to make life and work in the city sustainable, socially just and environmentally friendly for everyone. In Munich-Neuperlach, new methods and innovative solutions for redesigning existing urban spaces are being tested. The focus is on social interaction in neighborhoods and respectful use of our planet's resources. People, buildings and public spaces are becoming more closely connected to nature again. Circular thinking and joint action contribute significantly to a sustainable transformation of daily life and construction. Creating NEBourhoods Together acts as an international network and creates a role model for other cities to spread the goals and spirit of the New European Bauhaus worldwide: beautiful, sustainable, inclusive.

Creating NEBourhoods Together, together with actors from society, administration, science and business, is implementing ten NEB Actions for the climate and socially just development of the district by 2025. These are implemented in our Transition Hub through two overarching processes: co-creation and entrepreneurship. Co-creation enables the joint development of Neuperlach into a district in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus. Entrepreneurship supports entrepreneurial thinking and action in and for the district through a variety of offers and programs.
