The exhibition presents the project “New Gate of the Alhambra”, designed by the world famous Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira in cooperation with the Spanish architect Juan Domingo Santos. This project won the 2010 “International Competition of Ideas: Atrium of the Alhambra”. As one of the most eminent of UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Alhambra in Granada represents a period of respect for diversity, pluralism and the co-existence of the Islamic and Christian cultures. The Official Visit of the President of the Portuguese Republic to Norway gave us the opportunity to present this exhibition showing a fascinating interaction between the architecture of Siza and the beautiful buildings and gardens of Alhambra.
