J.MAYER.H
2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the townhouse in Ostfildern. It is the first project built by Jürgen Mayer H., a Berliner by choice who began his architectural studies in Stuttgart. The award of the architecture prize "Mies van der Rohe Award Emerging Architect" to the town house already attracted international attention in 2003 and was the beginning of numerous awards.
Since then, J.MAYER.H - starting in 2014 with the two partners Hans Schneider and Andre Santer - has realized many nationally and internationally recognized projects. At the time a solitaire in the newly developing district of Scharnhauser Park, the Stadthaus is now the central public space with a groundbreaking architecture. It is an impressive, striking building that creates a lively space for encounters and exchanges between citizens. An exciting interior is created by the five-degree inclined walls in exposed concrete as well as by staged visual references. The Städtische Galerie is the central component of the building.
The exhibition "Scales" provides insights into the current artistic work of J.MAYER.H, which operates at the interfaces of architecture, art, design and communication and works with the potential of technologies and new materials. Now J.MAYER.H is, in a sense, a guest in its own house, challenging itself as well as our viewing habits.
